Winter Culture Week in a Nutshell!
Why couldn’t this winter break be more fun? It’s all down to Culture Week half-term camps, during which the kids had a great time! 👯
We are delighted because everyone – volunteers, children and coordinators – really enjoyed the last two weeks. We hope you can see from the photos how the kids enjoyed the workshops prepared by the European Solidarity Corps volunteers. It wasn’t just about learning about new cultures; it was about a little ‘traveling’ around the world.
Let’s take a look at the highlights of each day from the kids’ point of view:
On the first day, they explored the United States, learning about a variety of musical genres (and dancing to the YMCA!).
On the second day, they learned about Egypt and Spain. They fell in love with a purpose-built time machine and got involved in making their own jewelry. After all, it is unusual to feel like the ancient Egyptians!
As for Spain, the best part was building the mesmerizing Sagrada Familia!
On Wednesday, Hungary and Azerbaijan were on the agenda. The kids fell in love with the delicious Hungarian coconut balls and savored the flavors of Azerbaijan.
Thursday’s story was about Turkey. Designing socks with Turkish cats? It was a hit!
On the last day, the ‘show’ was stolen by Italy. The kids had the chance to rework Leonardo Da Vinci’s paintings and create their own humorous works!
Thank you for taking part and we’re excited to have you all again in the summer half-term 🙂
