August was active not only for the Akwedukt where Culture week was held. Also, it was busy time for other organizations where our volunteers went to help.

Eco-Initiative, a local organization that teaches children to better understand the environment and the importance of caring for nature, has run weekly Kwitnących Wakacji programs. Three of our volunteers took part in them – Daria and Nastya from Ukraine, Aurelio and Andrea from Spain. They were delighted with communicating with children in an informal setting in the forest.

“I liked that together with theoretical studies in the building of the organization, we walked a lot in the forest and the organizers willingly told the children about the forest and its inhabitants,” told Daria about her experience.

The program was built with the aim to show how big and at the same time small our world is it. It was about space and planet, about microorganisms and bacterizes. Hours of outdoor walks attempts to climb a tree and cross a rope bridge left an indelible impression on the volunteers.

“I really spend a nice time there with lovely kids and the good environment that they have in the organization. Everyone was super happy and the kids learned a lot of interesting things about science and friendship” – told Aurelio from Spain told Daria about her experience.
