Volunteers’ first meetings
All roads lead to Rome,
or to Akwedukt’s main office.
This year we greet volunteers from eight Europian countries: Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia, France, Turkey, Ukraine, Hungary, Serbia. And when their routs at last connect in Poland, it’s time to have first meetings!
The 2th of October was the day of on-arrival training. Our volunteers will spend next 12 months working side by side in Kwidzyn and Malbork, and the meeting was the good opportunity to learn about Akwedukt’s inner workings, action plans and hopes for the year. And of course, to get acquanted and start becoming one united Akwedukt’s team!
Friendliness also starts from sharing food, and such a wonderful cultural diversity just can’t be ignored. So the very next week, on October the 10th, we gathered together for the first cooking workshop. To chop, and boil, and fry, and, of course to sing with ukulele meanwhile.
Our new EVS team turned out to be creative not only in their field of work, but also on the kitchen. Hearty meals from Georgian and Hungarian cuisine, Bulgarian snacks, Serbian cookies.. How about Turkish coffee with Georgian cup reading afterwards?
We thank all of our participants for pleasant team work, and tasty cultural exchanges!
