Theatre for the kids alla teatr dla dzieci

What is the best way of learning a language?… It is a hard question, and everyone has an own opinion and own method, I would bet it.

But we had one with the other volunteers, too. Performing a play for kids! And what was it about? About the problem if a library is a mess, and the kids do not want to read the books.

What happens then, what will the characters in the books do? The kids could learn it on Monday (11.06)… They will protest and come to life. They will start to like the world and they do not want to go back, where they are bored.

And the librarian? What can she do? Not a lot, maximum she can clean the library and ask the kids to come and read the books. In this way the characters would see that they are important.

On Monday (11.06) with the other volunteers we had three performances. One in the Special School, the second in the kindergarten of Gardeja, and the last was for the public in the Library of Kwidzyn. All of them were different (lack of space, to huge space, just little kids, mostly adults, etc.) but we enjoyed all of them.

During the rehearsals we were loughed, played and of course learnt a lot. And why is this whole thing important? Because since then we have a lot better and bigger polish dictionary, which we can use most of cases. Obviously not in every, but who cares? Still at least we are using them between each others, we will understand what the other want. 😉

The director, and the writer was Ayse, who wrote the story first in Turkish, after she translated it to English for the first some time. And later by hard work of some volunteers and polish people it was written in Polish, too. The heros, heroins were: Cindarella (Elina), Ugly Duckling (Sergio), Pinocchio (Valentyna), Redhood (Reka), Jasmin (Lika), the bad witch of Snow-white (Sara), the Librarian (Ania) and the narrator (Ola).

Thanks for everyone who was participating, supporting us for this opportunity! 😀
