After the success of Chinese Summer we decided to have Chinese during winter holiday, too.

So during 6-11.01 three Chinese girls came from Shanghai, to help with the kids during Culture Week and at the same time learn something about non-formal education. They also made a day also for the participants about Chinese habits, and they gave us new names also.

On Friday they held a Chinese evening, for the local people. Thanks to them we got knew that in China the year starts not on 01.01 but in the beginning of the spring. Also they celebrate it not for one night but for a whole week. We learnt that studying in China is not that easy, everything starts in the kindergarten and lasts until they finishing the University. And not like here in Europe, that the parents are pushing their children. But as fast as the children realise,- that they have to be the best to be someone later- they will start to learn everyday from 7-20h.

In the and after these shocks we got knew about the trains in China. For example did you know that many railway in China is already works with magnetic?! And that these trains can be faster than 420km/h? No?! We either!

And for finishing these unbelievable stories the participants could taste a Chinese dish and there was a possibility to write in Chinese their names in Chinese, also they could try to write on a special paper with brush. Or just talk with the girls.

Of course beside ”work” they had free time, when they visited Malbork, and Gdańsk.

We hope we can host more people from China during summer-time.
