Busy week for our ESC volunteers from Italy!
This month our Italian volunteers organized some cultural activities for local kids in Kwidzyn and went to Malbork to run some sports workshops!
Last May 18th Davide Vergani and Gian Marco Gallo went to Malbork to play football and organize a training for boys from the Youth Educational Center. After the training the boys showed the Center to the volunteers, and so our Italians got thrilled:
“We didn’t expect to get to work somewhere else apart from Kwidzyn, and we are so happy to get such experience and meet these guys. They warmly welcomed us and even showed us their school, which resembles an American college, as in the films. It was great! “- shared the volunteers.
Two days later, the Italians made a presentation of their country for the kids in Kwidzyn. Such an intense and interesting program gave the children the opportunity to learn about some of the peculiarities of living in Italy and creatively decorate the map of a country in southern Europe in the shape of a boot.
“It was a great pleasure to meet with the local kids and introduce them to the Italy we know ” – said Gian Marco.
“Kids definitely liked our language and gestures, they seemed super passionate and engaged! I hope that after our program they will be named as the quietest class in the school, since they already communicate only with gestures! ” – added Davide.
More kids are coming to us soon, and our ESC volunteers can’t wait to represent their countries’ cultures!
